What to Expect: Your Experience Starts Before Your Treatment Does

What to Expect: Your Experience Starts Before Your Treatment Does

Most appointments start the moment you sit down in a treatment chair. At Abōde, yours starts the moment you walk through the door.
That's not a marketing line. It's a design decision we made on purpose, because we believe the experience of being cared for shouldn't begin when a treatment does. It should begin the moment you arrive, before anything else is asked of you, before you've answered a single question or taken off your coat.
This is what that actually looks like.

The Welcome

When you arrive at Abōde, a staff member will greet you at the front desk. Before anything else, you’ll be offered something to drink: a cup of coffee, a warm tea, or a bubbly drink if that's more your speed. It's a small thing. But it signals something important: you're not here to be processed. You're here to be taken care of.
From there, you'll be shown to our private locker room where you'll find everything you need: a plush robe, sandals, and your own locker to settle your things into. This is where the outside world starts to fall away.

The Lounge

There is something about the Abōde space that's difficult to fully describe until you're standing in it.
Limewash walls in soft, earthy tones. Arched doorways that slow you down just by walking through them. Custom lighting that's warm and dim and nothing like the overhead brightness you've been under all day. Tile underfoot. Every detail considered, nothing accidental.

The relaxation lounge is where you'll spend your time before your treatment begins, and it was designed to do one thing really well: help you exhale. Whether you spend that time in the steam room, tucked into the sauna, or simply sitting in the quiet of the lounge with your drink and your thoughts, the intention is the same. To give your nervous system a chance to shift from doing to receiving before your treatment even begins.

We give you 45 minutes. Not because 45 minutes is how long it takes to check in. But because that's how long it actually takes for most of us to stop running through our mental to-do list and arrive somewhere close to present.

Why This Matters More Than You Think

Here's something we think about a lot at Abōde: most women come to us carrying a lot. Not just the concerns they've booked to address, but the weight of the day, the week, the season they're in. The mental load. The guilt about being here at all. The low hum of everything that needs doing the moment this appointment is over.
When your body is still in that mode, you can't fully receive care. You're physically present but mentally somewhere else entirely.

The lounge experience exists to interrupt that pattern. To create a genuine transition between your life out there and the care that's waiting for you in here. By the time Courtney or Ally comes to bring you back to your treatment room, you're already different. Softer. More present. Actually ready.
That's when the real work begins, right!?

Into the Treatment Room

The treatment rooms at Abōde carry the same energy as the lounge: warm, intentional, unhurried. The same earthy tones, the same considered lighting, the same quiet that makes you feel like you're somewhere genuinely apart from the rest of your day.
If you're seeing Courtney, you might be coming in for injectables (Botox, Dysport, dermal filler, or Sculptra) or you might be coming in because something has felt off for a while and you haven't been able to get a straight answer about why. As a Family Nurse Practitioner with advanced training in aesthetics, functional medicine, and hormone health, Courtney treats the full picture. Some clients come to her for a Sculptra consultation and leave with a hormone panel ordered. Some come in frustrated after being told their labs are normal and finally feel heard for the first time. Whatever brings you to her treatment room, the experience is the same, a real conversation, not an assessment. She'll ask about your goals, your history, your symptoms, and what you're hoping to feel when you leave. She'll tell you honestly what she thinks will serve you and what won't. And she'll design a plan around you specifically, not a template.

Because here's something Courtney believes deeply: your skin and your hormones are not separate conversations. Estrogen drives collagen production. Cortisol accelerates aging. Hormonal shifts, whether postpartum, perimenopausal, or somewhere in between, show up on your face before they show up anywhere else. Treating what's on the surface while ignoring what's happening underneath it will only get you so far. At Abōde, you don't have to choose between looking better and feeling better. The goal is always both.

If you're seeing Ally for a facial, you're in for something that goes well beyond what most people picture when they hear that word. Ally begins with a real-time skin analysis to understand exactly what your skin needs that day, not what a protocol says it should need, but what it's actually asking for. From there she layers in targeted techniques, concentrated serums, and treatment masks specific to your skin. The Ritual, our signature facial experience, is 60 or 90 minutes of complete focus on your face, your skin, and your wellbeing. It is one of the most restorative hours you will spend on yourself, and clients leave glowing in a way that goes deeper than the surface.

We also offer Diamond Glow, chemical peels, microneedling, MOXI, BBL, and laser hair removal, each one delivered with the same level of customization and care. And if at any point during your visit something comes up that feels bigger than a skin concern, a symptom you've been dismissing, a question about your hormones, a frustration with how you've been feeling, bring it up. That's what we're here for.

Who Gets Access to the Lounge

When you visit Abōde for the first time, complimentary lounge access is included. We want you to experience the full picture of what Abōde is before you decide if it's the right fit for you.
For ongoing visits, lounge access is included as part of our membership. Members arrive early, settle in, and begin their restoration before their treatment starts, every single time.
If you're curious about membership and what it includes, we'd love to walk you through it. Just ask when you book.

A Note on What to Bring

A few practical things worth knowing before your first visit:
Bring a swimsuit for the steam room and sauna. We provide the robe, the sandals, and the locker, just bring yourself and a swimsuit underneath.

Plan to arrive a little early. Not because you have to, but because you'll want to. The 45 minutes in the lounge before your treatment is genuinely one of the best parts of the Abōde experience and you won't want to rush it.

And leave the to-do list at the door. Whatever is waiting for you on the other side of this appointment will still be there when you're done. For now, this time is yours.

This Is What We Mean by a Sanctuary

The word gets used a lot in the wellness space, so much so that it's started to lose its meaning. But we use it deliberately and we mean it specifically.
A sanctuary is a place set apart. A place where the rules of the outside world are gently suspended. A place where you are not a task to be completed or a problem to be solved but a person to be cared for. That is what we have built at Abōde. And we cannot wait for you to feel it for yourself.
